SICILY. Katane. Circa 405-403/2 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 3.72 g, 4 h). Facing head of Silenos. Rev. KATANAIΩN (retrograde) Diademed head of Apollo to left; behind, olive-leaf and berry. Jameson 554 ( same dies ). Mirone 103. SNG ANS 1262 var. (no leaf and berry). Rare. A nicely toned example of superb style. The reverse somewhat rough , otherwise, very fine.
