Gallienus, 253-268. Antoninianus (Bronze, 22 mm, 2.93 g, 6 h), Rome, December 263 to early 264. GALLIENVM AVG SENATVS Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right, with slight drapery on left shoulder. Rev. PAX AVG / T Pax standing front, head to left, holding olive-branch in her right hand and transverse scepter with her left. Cohen -. MIR 401r (1 specimen, same dies ) = Peus 251 (1954), 325. RIC -. Of the highest rarity, apparently only the second example known. An important issue of great interest. Struck from somewhat worn dies and with a flan crack, otherwise, very fine.
