Septimius Severus, 193-211. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 30 mm, 26.17 g, 12 h), Rome, 195. L•SEPT•SEV PERT AVG IMP•V Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, drapery on left shoulder. Rev. PART ARAB PART ADIAB / COS II P P / S - C Two Parthian captives, with hands tied behind backs, seated back to back on shields at base of trophy. BMC 555 var. (no drapery). Cohen 366 var. (no drapery). RIC 690c. A very attractive and well struck example on an unusually round and full flan. Fields somewhat smoothed, otherwise, good very fine.
