★ Lustrous and virtually as struck ★

Hadrian, 117-138. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.49 g, 7 h), Rome, 134-138. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P Bare head of Hadrian to right. Rev. ANNONA AVG Modius with four grain-ears and poppy. BMC 595. Cohen 172. RIC 230. A wonderful piece, lustrous and sharply struck. Virtually as struck.

From the collection of Yves Gunzenreiner, ex Gorny & Mosch 114, 4 December 2002, 316 and previously from a Swiss private collection kept in a bank safe in Lugano since the early 1980s.
