Trajan, 98-117. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 35 mm, 24.46 g, 6 h), Rome, circa 104/5-107. IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS V P P Laureate head of Trajan to right, with aegis on left shoulder. Rev. S•P•Q•R OPTIMO PRINCIPI / S C Trajan, in military attire, on horseback right, thrusting javelin at fallen Dacian below him. BMC 836. Cohen 503 var. (differing bust type). RIC 534 var. (differing bust type). Woytek 203cB. An attractive example with a fine portrait and a beautiful natural green patina. Minor deposits, otherwise, extremely fine.
