★ An extremely rare Cilician obol with an interestin ★

CILICIA. Uncertain. 4th century BC. Obol (Silver, 13 mm, 0.61 g, 4 h). Wreathed head of female facing slightly to left. Rev. The Persian Great King, with bow and quiver on his back, standing right, holding dagger in his right hand and uncertain object in his left, fighting griffin standing left. Cf. CNG 70 (2005), 362, 73 (2006), 411-412 and Roma E-Sale 22 (2015), 301. SNG Levante -. SNG Paris -. Extremely rare. An unusual and highly interesting type. Minor roughness, otherwise, extremely fine.
