KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 8.61 g, 9 h), Pella, struck by Antipater, Polyperchon or Kassander, 323-315. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Charioteer driving fast biga to right, holding reins in his left hand and goad with his right; below, thunderbolt. Le Rider 427 (D193/R316). A splendid example, lustrous and very well struck. Good extremely fine.
