Description

MACEDON. Terone. Circa 490-480 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 15 mm, 2.13 g). Oinochoe with handle to left and single grape cluster hanging against body. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square of windmill form with granulated recesses. Hardwick group II, pl. 29,6 = SNG ANS 746 var. (handle to right and with a different incuse). Very rare. Light doubling on the border of dots on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

From a German collection, assembled since the 1960s.
