Description

THRACE. Chersonesos. Circa 386-338 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 12 mm, 2.42 g). Forepart of a lion to right, head turned back to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with two raised and two sunken squares; in one sunken quarter, pentagram and pellet, in another, K and [pellet]. BMC 38 var. (pentagram without pellet). McClean -. SNG Copenhagen -. Sharply struck on excellent metal. Minor edge cracks, otherwise, extremely fine.
