Description

CELTIC, Central Europe. Rauraci. Circa 50-30 BC. Quinarius (Silver, 12 mm, 1.59 g, 3 h). NINNO Draped bust of youthful male to left, with wing in his hair. Rev. MAVC Boar to left. D&T 3279. LT -. SLM 967ff. Rare. A well struck and beautifully toned example with unusually complete legends. Minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

Ex Nomos 9, 21 October 2014, 22 and possibly from the Balsthal find of 1839.
