Drachm, about 424-405 BC. AR 6.07 g. Head of Athena r., wearing crested Attic helmet with raised cheek pieces. Rev. F - AR - S Heros, wearing short chiton, chlamys and petasus, on horse prancing r., holding reins with his l. hand, lagobolon (pedum) over r. shoulder with his r. hand; in exergue, TH in tiny letters. Lavva 142,82b ( this specimen ). BCD, Thessal. II,638 ( this specimen ).
Very rare in this quality. Excellent classical style. Extremely fine Provenance: BCD collection and auction TRITON (CNG), New York XV (2012), 638 (Hammer USD 16'000 !).
