Tetradrachm, about 450 BC. AR 16.97 g. Laureate head of Apollo r., hair bound up in the back of the head. Rev. LE - O - NTI - NON Lion head r. with jaws open and tongue protruding; around, four grains of corn. SNG ANS 245 (this obv. die, same rev. die as no. 247). SNG Oxford 1788 (these dies).
Excellent early classical style. Well centred. Obv. Good very fine. Rev. Extremely fine Provenance: Maître B. collection and auction Hess-Divo AG, Zürich 310 (2008), 23 and Sotheby's auction October 1993, 210.
