ATTICA. Athens. 2nd-1st centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.76 gm, 12h). NGC AU 5/5 - 4/5. New Style coinage, ca. 94/3 BC, Nikogenes, Andreas and Kallimachos, magistrates. Head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with a vine scroll, Pegasus above upturned cheek flap, protomes of four horses above visor / Α-ΘΕ / NIKO-ΓE-NHΣ-AN/ΔPE/AΣ-KAΛ/ΛIMA/XOΣ (magistrates), owl standing facing on overturned amphora inscribed with M (month); ΔI (engraver) below, all within olive wreath. Thompson 1041-3.
