MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (24mm, 16.82 gm, 2h). VF. Early posthumous issue of 'Amphipolis', by Antipater, under Philip III Arrhidaeus, ca. 323-320 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / AΛEΞANΔPOY-BAΣI-ΛEΩΣ, Zeus seated left on backless throne, left leg drawn back, feet on ground line, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; uncertain symbol in left field (off flan). cf.
