LUCANIA. Metapontum. Ca. 330-280 BC. AR stater or didrachm (21mm, 7.74 gm, 8h). NGC AU 5/5 - 4/5. Head of Demeter right, wreathed with barley ears / META, barley ear of seven kernels per side; ΛΥ left of stem, single leaf supporting star to right. Johnston pl. 14, 8.4. HN Italy 1592. Nicely centered, struck in choice metal, and lightly toned.
