NEAR EAST. Uncertain mint. Ca. 4th-3rd centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (26mm, 17.39 gm, 11h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 4/5. Imitating AR tetradrachm in the name and type of Alexander III the Great, issue of Carrhae, by Seleucus I Nicator (312-281 BC), ca. 305-300 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck / AΛEΞAͶΔPOY:Σ-ꓭΛΣ(retrograde)IΛCΩΣ, Zeus enthroned left, right leg drawn back, feet on stool, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; crescent above ΔI in left field, AYP monogram in circle below strut. cf.
