Japan Bank of Japan 1000 Yen ND (1945) Pick 45s3 JNDA 11-48 Two Consecutive Specimens PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ; Choice Uncirculated 65 EPQ. A pair of expedient Specimens with consecutive serial numbers. Though these notes were thought to have been designed and printed in the 1930s, they were not released until the latter years of 1945 as higher inflation gave a need for these higher denominations. The golden colors used on both sides remain brilliant and well preserved on these Specimens. "Mi-hon" handstamps and four POCs are seen as expected. The EPQ designation on both notes highlight the excellent embossing and sharp paper. From the Yuri Solovey Collection of Japan and Territories
