Japan Bank of Japan 1000 Yen ND (1945) Pick 45a JNDA 11-48 PCGS Extremely Fine 40. A visual appealing high denomination from the short-lived 1945 Post-Surrender Issue. Introduced on August 17, 1945 just days after Japan's surrender during World War II, this series only circulated seven months before being withdrawn on February 3, 1946. This larger sized note features the portrait of legendary prince, Yamato Takeru along with a beautiful vignette of the Takebe Shrine in Otsu, Shiga. A very nice representation for this tough note.
