An excellent representation of the highest denomination note from the Meiji 11-14 (1878-81) "Empress Jinju" Issue. This rare and well preserved 10 yen is the sole finest graded in the PMG Population report with the next trailing example registering as an Extremely Fine 40. This lovely note features the portrait of the legendary Empress Jingu, who is said to have ruled beginning in the year 201, and is the first female to be printed on a Japanese banknote.
