MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (25mm, 16.36 gm, 2h). XF, porosity, countermark. Late lifetime or early posthumous issue of 'Amphipolis', ca. 323-320 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck; countermark S (Aramaic) in square incuse on cheek / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus seated left on backless throne, left leg drawn back, feet suspended, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; cornucopia in left field.
