Carol I gilt-bronze Ban 1888-B MS64 NGC, Bucharest mint, KMA18a. Mintage: 500. Originally produced for presentation to Queen Elizabeth of Romania and later used for charity and distributed at Palace functions at the rate of 20 Lei for 1 Ban, this delightful minor preserves a somewhat reserved patina to its gilding, revealing watery pulses of luster under good light. One of only a handful of the survivors to be certified.
