Honoring Marshal Andres de Santa Cruz, this 8 Reales-sized medal reads: "Cuzco to the Undefeated Protector of the Confederation". In fact, such a title would not last for long since Santa Cruz was defeated less than a year later, in January 20, 1839 at the Battle of Yungay.
