Dutch Colony. Batavian Republic copper Piefort Duit 1808 VF Details (Environmental Damage) NGC, Enkhuzien mint, cf. KM76, Scholten-557. A highly puzzling issue, as neither SCWC nor Scholten make any reference to a piefort being struck on this struck, or of any of the Batavian-period duits for that matter, though the planchet does appear rather thick for the issue. Still quite intelligible for the unabashedly poor quality of the type. From the Seki Collection
