Dutch Colony. United East India Company 3 Gulden 1786 MS62 NGC, KM117, Scholten-61b. Variety with Pallas's hand resting on her hip. Utrecht issue. An elite and noticeably choice specimen for the assigned grade, currently situated atop the NGC census alongside just two other specimens, though the piece at hand evinces neither the marginal weakness nor the planchet flaws typical even for these lofty examples. The whole of the scene of Pallas and the Bible is finely stippled set aglow by the golden luster in the fields and complemented by the presence of tiny flow lines. From the Seki Collection
