Charles I (1625-1649) Crown ND (1642-1643) VF25 NGC, Truro mint, Rose mm, 29.24gm, KM333, S-3045. A comparatively superb and somewhat scarce Civil War crown, usually craved only for its historicity and impressive size due to a poor strike, though here thoroughly admirable. While a clear unevenness obscures the king's face, the remainder of the "mounted" scene is well-detailed, with each plate of his armor defined and a radiant sapphire and amber tone around the obverse peripheral and reverse central elements.
