Philip II of Spain & Mary I (1554-1558) Shilling ND (1554-1555) VF Details (Obverse Repaired) NGC, Without mm, 6.20gm, S-2498. A comparatively high grade for this almost universally poorly struck and preserved type, and apparently the current finest certified at either NGC or PCGS, which despite the repair work in the center of the obverse, preserves a pronounced clarity in the legends. We note that this example realized approximately $1,200 including buyer's premium in a public auction in January of 2018.
