A simply phenomenal and supremely eye-catching coronation medal, tied at present for the finest seen by NGC and only the second of the type we have handled. Whereas the previous piece we sold in our September Long Beach Auction #3067 displayed significant die rust and degradation at the reserve legend, the present piece is razor-sharp and lacking in no detail, the fields replete with minor stippling heightening the medal's satiny finish. While light handling marks are noted for accuracy, they are hardly a distraction for the grade and are quickly offset by fine die polish lines.
