Portuguese Colony Counterstamped 120 Reis 1887 VF25 NGC, cf. KM24.1 (on Spanish host), cf. KM372.6 (for host). Displaying crowned GP counterstamp (XF Standard) on a Mexican 1831 Go-MJ Real. Extremely rare to find struck on a Mexican host, the countermarking program enacted to single out foreign copper and silver, most usually on Portuguese and Brazilian coins and European Talers. The host itself, while admitting a few minor scratches, appears quite pleasing and fully intelligible, toned to a argent hue with charcoal accents highlighting the devices.
