Ptolemaic Kingdom. Ptolemy I Soter. Silver Tetradrachm (15.67 g), as Satrap, 323-305 BC. Alexandria, ca. 311/0-305 BC. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, wearing elephant's skin headdress. Reverse: AΛEΞANΔPOY, Athena Alkidemos advancing right; to right, helmet, ΔI, and eagle standing right on thunderbolt. Svoronos 169; SNG Copenhagen 30. Well struck and well centered on a fine silver flan. Lustrous surfaces with lovely natural antique toning. NGC grade Ch AU; Strike: 4/5, Surface: 5/5. Estimate Value $1,500 - 2,000
