Sasanian Kingdom. Shapur I. Gold Dinar (7.34 g), AD 240-272. Mint I ('Ctesiphon'). Bust of Shapur I right, wearing diadem and mural crown with korymbos; below diadem tie, three pellets. Reverse: Fire flanked by two attendants. SNS type Iic/1a, style A, pl. 23, 35; Göbl type I/1; cf. Sunrise 739-40. Removed from an ANACS slab where graded MS62. Mint State.
