Sicily, Syracuse, Tetradrachm under the Second Democracy, signed by Eumenes and Eukleidas, ca. 415-405 BC; AR (g 17,42; mm 26; h 3); Prancing quadriga driven l. by charioteer, holding kentron and reins; above, Nike flying r. to crown him; below horses, EY; in ex. dolphin chasing fish to r., Rv. Head of Arethusa l., wearing earring and necklace; hair caught up at back of head and styled in waves on the brow; below neck truncation, EV; around, ΣYPAKOΣION and four dolphins. Very rare. Lightly toned and good very fine.
