Parthian gold and garnet earrings
1st – 2nd century AD; lungh. cm 5,8; gr 10,97 (ognuno); A pair of gold earrings with a drop-shaped upper part within which is placed a red glass; below, cylindrical element with bead-shaped pendant, ending with a garnet, decorated with engraved lines and framed by hollow spheres. Each earring shows an hinged ear hoop with arching earwire.
Ascribed to Parthian production for composed form with differents elements and for the typical hinged ear hoop.

Private collection, London; acquired on the European art market in the 1990s.
