Thessalian League . AR Stater (21 mm, 5.66 g), c. 196-1st cent. BC. Kleippos and Gorgopas, magistrates.
Obv. Head of Zeus right, wearing oak-wreath.
Rev. ΘΕΣΣΑ – ΛΩΝ in vertical columns, starting low left, on either side of Palla Itonia advancing right, holding shield horizontally on extended left arm and long spear at shoulder level with right hand; along line of spear, [KΛE]IΠ-ΠOΣ; ΓOPΓΩΠAΣ in exergue.
