Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Tarentum. AR Diobol, c. 325-280 BC. D/ Head of Athena right, wearing Attic crested helmet, decorated with Skylla hurling a stone. R/ Herakles kneeling right, strangling the Nemean lion; [on left, club]; on the lion's back, owl standing left, head facing. HN Italy 976; Vlasto 1323-4; SNG ANS 1413. AR. g. 1.09 mm. 11.50 Good metal. A very attractive example, brilliant and prettily toned. Good VF.
