Antigonos “The One-Eyed” had major successes in an effort to reunite Alexander’s empire, and never lost a battle. The other successors to Alexander united against him, however, and finally, at the age of 80, he was defeated and killed at the battle of Ipsus in 301 BCE. His son Demetrios Poliorketes succeeded him.
