Description

Indo-Greek Kingdom. Zoilos II. Ca. 55-35 B.C. AE drachm (25.3 mm, 17.31 g, 12 h). Indian standard, square-flan. [Β]ΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ - ΖΩΙΛΟ[Υ], legend around three sides of square; Apollo standing right, quiver on back, holding arrow with both hands; monogram in field to left / "Maharajasa - tratarasa / Jhoilasa" (in Brahmi), tripod with monograms in field to left and right. SNG ANS IX 1678 var. (cursive ω in king's name, obverse). VF, full-flan, well-centered and struck, brown-green patina with scant deposits in recesses.
