Theodosius II (402-450) AV Solidus (Gold, 4.53g, 21mm) Constantinople, Δ = 4th officina, 425-429.
Obv: D N THEODO - SIVS P F AVG, Helmeted, diademed and cuirassed bust of Theodosius facing, holding spear over his right shoulder and with shield, orna­mented with a horseman spearing a fallen foe, over his left.
Rev: SALVS REI - PVBLICAE Δ/CONOB Two nimbate emperors seated facing on double throne, the larger on the left Theodosius II and the smaller on the right Valentinian III, both wearing consular robes and holding a mappa in their right hands and a cross in their left.
